Dear Addy: It’s spring, so I’m thinking of trying something new. Is it lame to get a Facebook page? Do grown-ups even do that?
Addy’s Articulate Response: You don’t have a Facebook page? Get a Facebook page. It’s so much cooler than myspace (although Addy respectfully reminds you he doesn’t officially endorse either site). Lots of professional people are on their. Also, make sure you’re on LinkedIn. Unless you have social networking anxiety, it’s a great way to stay connected and see who’s connected to everybody else. And if you don’t believe me, just Google “why Facebook matters” and wade through all the great articles and blog posts on the subject.

Of course, social networking can be a bad deal if you’re throwing up photos and videos you shouldn’t be. Your boss and clients are on the Internet too, you know. It can also be sort of distracting. If you’ll excuse me, I need to go update my Twitter feed.
