Jon Carroll joined Insight Marketing Design as creative director in September. Carroll was previously with Lehman Millet in Boston, where he focused on healthcare marketing for clients including Abbott Nutrition and Baxter. “We’re excited to add Jon to our team,” Doug says. “He brings a wealth of experience and a creative energy that will benefit both our clients and our agency.”

Jon chose to make the move from Massachusetts to South Dakota so he could spend more quality time with his wife and four children. In Boston, he had a two-hour commute every day.“I found Insight’s job posting intriguing and thought this was my opportunity to work with a great team in a city that offered a better quality of life. I also checked out Insight’s online portfolio and it was obvious there was a lot of talent and passion within the company,” Jon says.

Carroll first found the job posting on the SDAF website. “The Career Opportunities page of our website is one of the most-trafficked,” says Ruth Ann Scott, SDAF’s executive director. “It’s a benefit that our members rely on, and it helps creatives from other parts of the country – like Jon – find jobs in our fast-growing market.”

From August to October, the Career Opportunities page received 641 page views, which made up 9.88 percent of all of the website’s page views. Compared to the same three-month time period in 2011, the Career Opportunities page had a 374.81 percent increase.

Job listings of local American Advertising Federation clubs’ websites are an additional benefit of membership. “Local clubs and the parent national organization, American Advertising Federation, making finding jobs a little easier. Both organizations offer a job bank that pinpoints industry-specific jobs in many parts of the country. The wide range of jobs runs across all disciplines of our industry,” adds Joanne Schecter, executive vice president at American Advertising Federation.
